As the year comes to an end, the sports have wrapped up their seasons. There have been rough seasons for some teams, while others were able to see many positives. Looking back on this spring, lacrosse, tennis, softball, golf and soccer have worked hard and competed well.

NDNU lacrosse suffered a rough loss on the home field against East Coast competitor Molloy on March 17. The Argos lost in the final minutes of the game 4-5.
In the first period, there were shots on goal but no one was able to score. It was in the second that Molloy scored at the 11:28 mark, but the Argos quickly tied the score at one with a goal by Greg Bearson.

The Argonauts played a double header on March 18 against Sonoma State, neither of which went as expected. Sonoma State took the lead from the beginning by scoring five runs in the first inning, and then, in the third, they racked up another pair of runs to make it 7- 0.

The Argos played at home against Chico State in a double header on March 25.
In the first of two games, the Wildcats got the best of the Argonauts. The Wildcats put up a pair of runs in consecutive innings to extend their lead to 4-1. In the top of the seventh, the Wildcats continued to increase their lead to eight and put the Argonauts away.

The lacrosse season was cut short this year. The most recent lacrosse trip to Pennsylvania and Virginia was cancelled due to lack of funding. The players were told a few days before they were set to leave that they had a 50/50 chance of going. The day before the trip they were told that trip was cancelled unless they could come with $10,000 to cover the cost.

Dan Bergeron is pretty hard to miss walking among the NDNU students, standing at six feet and seven inches. But you might also know him from his performance on the court as No. 21 for the NDNU's Men's Basketball team.
Bergeron is a graduating senior, who has played basketball all four years.

An angel appeared in Augusta, Georgia on Easter Sunday to win the 2009 Masters Golf Championship. For the first time in the history of the prestigious Masters Tournament, a golfer from Argentina became this year's champion. The 39 year-old, Angel Cabrera, won the Masters in a three-man playoff by topping Americans Kenny Perry and Chad Campbell.
