Our education system is under attack. The politicians assigned to protect it are bombarding it. 2009 saw drastic California State budget cuts, and many of these cuts directly affect California's education system. College courses are being discontinued, students are being turned away, tuition is rising, teachers are losing their jobs, and financial aid is being threatened.

As part of Black History Month and an on-going drive to promote civil rights activism at NDNU, the Center for Student Leadership has taken the month of February to show films and hold discussions on the Civil Rights movement of the 1960s and the ongoing efforts of civil rights leaders.
