Dear Athena,
I have a crush on a basketball player, and he likes me too.
We are thinking about dating, but I am having second thoughts because I feel like his athletic schedule is too demanding for us to have a relationship.
Is there a way to balance a sports schedule, school and a relationship?
Basketball Crush
Dear Basketball Crush,
I think you are smart to consider the time constraints a NCAA athlete undergoes.
However, I think it is healthy for couples to be individuals within a relationship. It is important for you and the person you date to do the things you love.
I think you should try dating him and fully support his basketball career! You can even be a part of it by attending his games and cheering him on.
You might just find that basketball brings you closer!
Dear Athena,
My friend just broke up with her boyfriend and she won't leave our room unless it's for class. I want to help but she won't talk to anyone about the breakup.
I know it's hard to go through a breakup, but staying in her room all day can't be the answer.
Broken
Dear Broken,
This is a common situation when a friend goes through a breakup, but no matter how many times we seem to endure these situations, they never seem to get easier.
The best thing to do is to get a whole bunch of your girlfriends together and plan a fun-filled girls' night out where everyone can dress up and take lots of pictures!
She may be reluctant to go at first, but she will thank you for getting her out and having fun.
Remember, you can always find strength in numbers so get as many girls together as possible!
