Spread the cheer! Tasty holiday treats are here

Tis the season to be jolly, making goodies, what a hobby! Now that the holidays are here, it's time to bake with some love and cheer. Anyone can cook, there's no judge in any kitchen. All you have to do is follow a few directions.



Gingerbread Men

Gingerbread, gingerbread man, who stole your gum drop buttons? Here is a quick and easy recipe to create your own gingerbread man.

1 cup brown sugar

2 tsp ground ginger

1 tsp ground nutmeg

1 cup of melted butter

1 teaspoon cinnamon

cup milk

teaspoon salt

1 cup molasses

1 tsp vanilla

4 cups flour

The baking part is simple, preheat the oven to 350 degrees and mix all ingredients in a large bowl. Roll out dough on a flowered surface, cut out cookies, bake and then decorate.

Rice Crispy Treats

Snap, crackle, pop! The fun is not about to stop. Everyone loves marshmallows, this recipe will be a sticky task to make but such a great treat to taste.

cup butter

4 cups melted marshmallows

5 cups Rice Crispies

Melt marshmallows in a large pan over heat; add the butter and cereal next slowly. Stir until thickness gets tough. Pour into a pan, cool of for a couple hours and then cut as needed.



Sugar Cookies

What a bright time, it's the right time, to rock the night away. Before you got o bed, place some cookies for the big man in red. Here's a recipe for some old fashioned sugar cookies.

1 cup softened butter

2 eggs

1 tsp vanilla extract

3 cups flour

1 tsp baking powder

tsp salt

1 tsp baking soda

1 cup sugar

Repeat baking instructions from the gingerbread cookies and then decorate! Everyone will love the cookies, including the big man in red.
