Argos split with Chico in double header

The Argos played at home against Chico State in a double header on March 25.
In the first of two games, the Wildcats got the best of the Argonauts. The Wildcats put up a pair of runs in consecutive innings to extend their lead to 4-1. In the top of the seventh, the Wildcats continued to increase their lead to eight and put the Argonauts away.
Chico States pitcher, Jessica McDermott, allowed only one run, five hits, and had seven strikeouts on the game. NDNU's Lindsay Crist was two for two on the game and added a pair of steals to the stat book.
The Argos redeemed themselves in the second game by scoring six runs in the second inning to take the lead. Chico State played catch up by scoring a single run in consecutive innings, but NDNU's Cassie Avila hit her first career homerun and solidified the Argonaut's lead. The ladies went on to win 9-6.
Avila finished with two hits and three RBIs, and Lindsay Crist recorded three hits in the game as well as one RBI.
