In his final year as a collegiate athlete, Bergeron went well beyond expectations. He received PacWest Honorable mention for his outstanding play all season and especially in conference.
Bergeron also achieved a grand milestone in becoming only the fifth player to score 1,000 points in their playing careers. "It was a great accomplishment, especially because only a handful of people have done it at our school in the past," he said.
Bergeron also became the all-time leader in rebounds in the NDNU record books.
"I have to share this one with guys like Deon and Eric Bossom and all my other teammates for blocking out all time, so I could just go get in there and grab the rebound," said Bergeron.
Not only was Bergeron seen in the NDNU community in the gym, but he was actively involved with the Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC). He has been the SAAC President for the past two years and organized some great events for the student athletes. The biggest ones being the dodgeball tournaments and the end of the year all sports banquets that have been held in the gym.
His plan has always been to get his teaching credential, master's degree, and coach basketball at the high school or college level.
"I would love to some day make a career out of coaching at the collegiate level. Until then, I plan to continue learning about the game from other coaches."
