Dan Bergeron is pretty hard to miss walking among the NDNU students, standing at six feet and seven inches. But you might also know him from his performance on the court as No. 21 for the NDNU's Men's Basketball team.

Bergeron is a graduating senior, who has played basketball all four years. He is graduating in May with a 3.68 and a degree in both history and political science.

Dan Peter Bergeron was born Feb. 9, 1987 to Pete and Michele Bergeron. He is the eldest of two boys in his family as his younger brother Mike is 20. He grew up in Sunnyvale, California and attended Fremont High School, 25 minutes south of NDNU.

Bergeron ended up at NDNU after being approached by the coaches to play basketball.

"I saw it as the best fit because they were willing to give me the opportunity to play basketball. It was close for my family to come watch me play, and I liked the idea of a small campus," said Bergeron.

The four years at NDNU were a complete journey for the great student-athlete. Not only is he going to be graduating magna cum laude, he met some of the best friends he could ever have here, and made multiple basketball memories, but also hit some major basketball milestones.

When asked about some of his best experiences at NDNU, Bergeron stated that there are simply too many to list. The numerous road trips for basketball to places, such as, Hawaii, Washington, and Arizona will always be at the top of his list.

"Above all, the best experience for me had to be with the relationships I have made over the years. I've made so many great friends, met so many incredible people from students, coaches, faculty, staff, you name it. Those are the experiences and things I will cherish from my time at NDNU," he said.

He was a standout player from the beginning as he started every game (except for one) out of all four years. He received the team's Most Inspirational Award his sophomore season and the team's Argonaut Award his junior season.
