NDNU alum Nicole Annaloro was hired in early February as the new head coach for the women's volleyball team. Annaloro played for the Argos from 1993-1997; she was named team captain as a sophomore in 1994 and held the title through her senior season.
After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sociology from NDNU, Annaloro went on to graduate school while coaching volleyball on the side. After coaching Notre Dame High School's volleyball team for four years, Annaloro moved to Truckee, California where she began a successful coaching career at Truckee High School. Annaloro is leaving LHS with an impressive record of 91-16, being two-times runner up, and with a state championship title in 2009.
Annaloro is the only female head coach on staff at NDNU. Although she will face challenges (there are a lot of open spots on the roster), Athletic Director Josh Doody believes her knowledge as a former student will help in recruiting and calls Annaloro an "excellent addition to the staff."
